For the Coco Crush 2023 collection, Chanel introduced an innovative interactive installation featuring a custom-designed CRT TV and a personalized remote control. Guests engaged with an animation film, which included pauses at key timecodes for viewers to choose between a set of answers. These answers helped build a personal profile that influenced the experience, aligning the guest with a specific persona.

Crafting a bespoke remote control to interact seamlessly with the TV and animation sequences. And Developing a custom program to synchronize viewer choices with the persona-building questionnaire.

The project involved designing an interactive installation that allowed guests to engage with a vintage CRT TV and a personalized remote control to explore the theme of crushes through a series of animated sequences and questions.
The installation featured an app offering an animation film, with pauses at key moments where viewers could select answers to a series of questions. These responses built a personal profile that influenced the experience. Our role was to design the TV and integrate it with the custom app and remote control, ensuring a seamless interaction between all elements. The challenge was to synchronize the viewer’s choices with the animation, while the persona-building aspect worked independently from the animated content. The custom remote control allowed users to easily navigate through the experience, blending the nostalgic feel of the past with modern functionality.
For guests, the experience was a unique mix of nostalgia and interactivity, offering a playful exploration that connected them to the Coco Crush theme of encounters and crushes, all within an elegant and immersive environment.
